Alliance Technology and Math Science High School

Alliance Technology and Math Science High School is a free public charter school authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District.
 
Alliance Technology and Math Science High School utilizes the Blended Learning for Alliance School Transformation (BLAST) program which provides each student with a laptop and uses a wide variety of technological tools to prepare them for success in college and future careers.  To read more about the BLAST model click here.

Principal Profile

Dr. Michelle Tubbs is dedicated to meeting the learning needs of all students through rigorous and relevant learning experiences that inspire students to realize excellent academic achievement. Belief in the power of learning and the potential of every individual are the foundation of her professional endeavors. Prior to earning her doctorate from Pepperdine University, Dr. Tubbs taught both public and private school children in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Texas, and California for twenty years. She worked with the Teacher Education Research Center (TERC) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Tubbs became a Clinical Professor at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and worked closely with high-need schools to effectively apply proven methods for successful mathematics education. Prior to taking over as Principal at ATAMS, Dr. Tubbs served as the Director of Math Instruction at the Alliance home office and, most recently, as the founding Principal at Alliance Bill & Cindy Simon Technology Academy High School.
